Head designer and CEO of the company, Martin Chadder, was conscious of not making the mistake so many others do when creating a piece of this nature, he was determined for it to ‘look like a real animal’ rather than a gargoyle gone wrong! We think you’ll agree that Mr. Chadder succeeded in his mission! Used to fill either a bath or basin the Lion Head faucet, available in eight different finishes, oozes luxury and offers a striking alternative to a standard bathroom fixture.
What is particularly special about this product however, is its connection with the international conservation and animal rights organization, The Born Free Foundation. Founded in 1984 by the actors Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna its objective is in theory very simple: to stop suffering and protect species in the wild. For every Lions head filler sold by Chadder & Co., it donates £40 to this amazing association.
This unique collaboration first arose while Martin was living in Kenya, close to a sanctuary where much of Born Free’s lion conservation work is conducted. Fortuitously, Martin met Tara Stimson, who joined Born Free in 2012 and is part of a team which manages the charity’s corporate partnerships. From there, Martin was inspired to create the Lions Head filler & the collaboration came to fruition!
The Born Free Foundation has become a global force for the protection of our wildlife and its dedicated team works tirelessly to provide a voice for vulnerable animals and prevent their suffering. The foundation has made a huge impact, but there is always more work to be done so the continuous support of its dedicated team and loyal contributors such as Chadder & Co. will always remain crucial to its progression towards an ever more compassionate planet.
